Formation of struvite stones (magnesium ammonium phosphate) in the lower urinary tract is caused by high concentrations of magnesium, ammonium and phosphate in the urine, and the presence of an alkaline urinary pH. Specific Struvite Management CCD is specially formulated to prevent urinary stones. The reduced phosphorus and magnesium content lowers concentrations of magnesium and phosphorus in the urine. In addition, Specific Struvite Management CCD creates a low urinary pH (6.0 to 6.3) so that the formation of struvite is prevented.
Indications
By dividing your pet's daily food into 3 or 4 meals, the increase of the urinary pH value, which usually occurs after meals, is prevented.
